Last day on Campus!

Hey all,
So today was the last day on campus. So just to update you on what has happened the last couple of weeks. First we have been having weekly bible studies for the students on tuesday nights and we have had a great turnout. There has been great discussion times and their are several students that Kyle and I feel like are very close to giving their lives to Christ. So please be praying for students such as mzete, phalo, kollisa, kuma, bongzy, thabang, kat, and the Wits students as well. We also are ending this trip with a camp and 7 guys on our floor are going. God has provided a fruitful ministry for Kyle and I, and we are very excited for all of them. They have many great speakers that will share the gospel clearly and sincerely. This will be my last blog and i apologize for not keeping you updated as well as I hoped too. Thank you all for the prayers, and God has grown me much in my vision, character, and overall love for Him. He has taught me to live for Him out of gratitude and not guilt. The freedom that He has brought me this summer in living for Him and not myself. Thank you all for the financial and spiritual support. Without you, I may not be on this opportunity. I thank God for all of you and Praise Him for this period of my life. My love for the south africans have grown tremendously and I hope God has big things planned for this Country. God Bless and 1 Timothy 4:10

Its Been Awhile

Hey all,

I know it has been awhile but it has been a hectic two weeks. I do not have much time so this will be short. Campus is going great and several guys are close to professing their faith. Please be praying for a guy named Phalo. He is very close and I appreciate all of your prayers. God is teaching me a lot and helping me walk joyfully with Him. Also, we are hosting a retreat so please be praying that many students will go. Things are going great and we only have a week and a half left on campus! Once again thank you for your prayers!

First Week on Campus!

Hello all,

Well the first week on campus has gone great, but before we get there I must apologize for the terrible design of my blog. I was looking at the other students blogs and they look awesome but now I just dont have enough time to make a sweet design so I hope no one cares that its boring looking. Anyways, the team has great success, our theme is unleashed and our goal is to meet and share with as many first year students as possible. We are having a briaa tomorrow ( What we would call a bar-b-q) and the leaders have been praying that over a 100 first year students would come. From our estimates at this point, that prayer will be answered with a resounding yes! It is very exciting. Many of the students on the team have awesome stories already, but God has provided a couple of Gospel conversations for Kyle (my ministry parter), and I. We have gotten the opportunity to share with a Jehova's witness and another student as well. It is much different here, as far as meeting students. They are very relational and it is not hard to talk about spiritual things at all. Most would say that they are christian but when you ask what that means, they typically reply that they go to Church. So we are sharing from a different angle than we are used too. In the states students are typically turned off to spiritual conversations unless you have a long standing relationship with them. Anyways, a great first week and I am learning more and more that life is all about God. I was made to worship Him. He is growing us all in just to trust Him. I am learning that the worst thing that could happen to me is for Him to leave me to myself and I have been promised that that is not going to happen. We are learning that it is only through His power that students will be changed, and only through His power that we will grow. I wish i could explain the joy that I have been experiencing lately. Well thats all right now, atleast that i have time for. Love you all! Psalm 30:11-12

Camping trip and 1st day on campus

Hey everyone,

Well there is so much to share and so little time so i will do my best to get as much as I can. First, we went on our camping trip to Kruger National Park and went on a sweet safari. We got to see about every animal except the cats. Which obviously, is what we all wanted to see the most but no biggie. We got to see zebras, rhino's, giraffe's, and elephants up close. So that was awesome and the camping out those two nights were a lot of fun as well. The final day of our trip we went to a place called grasskop. We stayed in these cottages that overlooked a huge canyon and then went on a hiking trip to these two huge waterfalls that were awesome. Lastly we hiked to a place called God's window that overlooked miles and miles of South African countryside. It was just amazing and i think that it definitely brought us all to worship our wonderful Creator. It was truly an amazing site. I will be working to upload the pictures sometime soon. Now, we are in our home at jo burgh and just completed our first day on campus. We are all very excited to see how God is going to use us on this campus. We have met several of the student leaders here over the last few days and they are a very loving group who I am looking forward to learning from. We are all ready to get started with the work that we came over here to do. Please keep us all in your prayers and specifically pray that we would all just trust God's power and that we would submit to His will joyfully. We all just want to see Him move on this campus and grow into more of a Christlike character. We are ready to work for God's Glory! I love you all and please post comments if you want!
Lastly, i have computer times twice a week now so i will update more frequently. God Bless!

1st week here!

Hey everyone,

Well a week has already gone by and I am going to update you as much as I can. First off, we ran like the McCallister family in home alone to make our flight to Jo-burg. Our first flight was delayed and we got to the airport in Washington as our flight was supposed to leave. In the end, God was gracious and held the flight untill we were able to board. We arrived in Jo-burg on tuesday and went to work on thursday. We were given the opportunity to lay the foundation for two different houses in the townships, or slums, near where we were staying. It is an incredible sight to see so many people in such a small area. Our team combined with several south africans involved in different churches in the townships and picked and shoveled for about three days straight. I am worn out but it was totally worth the relationships that we built. God used that opportunity to not only build a more liveable situation for two different families, but to spread his glory in love into the community. So far everything has gone smooth except please be praying for one of our team members named Rachel Rocky. She got mono right before our trip and will not be able to join us for another week and a half. Please pray that her health will come back to her quickly. We are about to leave for our three day camping trip at kruger! Lastly we were able to go to a church service in the township. The church consisted of a shack that was no longer than 30 ft in lenght and 15 ft wide. It was awesome. Praise God for all that He has done. It will probably be a week before i can update you again. Thank you for your prayers,

Love you all,

Casey Andis
